Modern Pool with Knife Edge in Jupiter Florida

There is no start or end to this pool as the water floats at the coping level and spills into every view around it pulling in nature and the serenity from every angle. The warmth of the fire draws you in as it floats above the water.

The floating pebble sculpture was carved out of solid granite mirroring the smaller pebbles covering the sun shelf below. The 360-degree complete spillover knife edge is a difficult task requiring a perfectly executed perimeter gutter system which in turn produces the mirrored surface water of this 714 SF pool. This project was completed in 2022 in Jupiter, Florida.

The entire design worked around saving the large oak tree; we shifted the pool footprint over and stayed outside of the canopy and root system. Keeping the slide to code also presented a challenge. We had to keep the natural rocks at least 7 ft above the slide. To do this we worked through many hurdles and had to build a structural pillar and support system for the rocks. Finally, the island presented a challenge to design everything in such a small space; keeping the gas lines, drainage, irrigation, and planters within code. We overcame this challenge by creating separation between the planting areas and drainage with underground retaining walls while using the artificial turf as a surface entrance to our underground drainage plan.

Tropical Lagoon Pool With Natural Rock Grotto

The natural warm materials and clean lines of this home extend into this tropical lagoon pool. Features include a natural rock grotto, lush landscaping and a sprawling green space flows into a putting green, and a sunken fire lounge. Located in Naples, FL designed and built by Lucas Lagoons.

Located in a flood zone along a river, we had to raise the elevation for the pool to four feet. We designed a retaining wall using native limestone caprock boulders to hold back the thousands of yards of dirt we had to bring in to make the design work.

The grotto waterfall feature created a challenge as the homeowners wanted to be able to fit at least twelve people inside the waterfall cave that was built out of natural rock. To overcome this challenge, we had to engineer a structural concrete roof that was hidden inside of the natural rock that was used to create a massive support system.

The biggest challenge the homeowners presented is that they wanted two completely different pool designs. The wife wanted a traditional pool and the husband wanted to let his inner child come out. To accomplish this we designed a slow transition from the roman shaped pool and strategically placed an infinity edge to make a transition into the wild side of the pool.

Our Biggest Infinity Pool To Date

We created our biggest infinity pool to date. This was a huge pool with huge challenges! We used a combination of sheet piles and helical piles to hold back the pool and not undermine the footers of the house. There was a real fear that this massive home might slide down the hill and into the river!

The design was challenging as the homeowners wanted both a vanishing edge and a waterfall feature. We designed the entire pool to look like it was built on a natural waterfall wall to accomplish this. We designed the natural rock to start just below the vanishing edge.

We also designed a lower pool to help blend the three styles of the traditional colonial house, a clean line minimalist pool, and the huge waterfall. We also utilized the lower pool to keep the water slide hidden from the main pool. The slide from the upper pool starts from the 2nd story deck on the house, winds behind the cabana, and ends down in the lower pool, a negative six-foot elevation below the main pool.

Lagoon Pool with Spa, Grotto Waterfall, and Fire Pit

The exterior design for this award winning lagoon pool included a large grotto waterfall water feature that was built with natural Tennessee fieldstone and large rock boulders. A stone fire pit was built inside the lagoon pool with its own seating area in the pool around the fire pit. The grotto waterfall lagoon pool and spa is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping and outdoor lighting creating a tropical paradise for the exterior design.
