On this episode of Insane Pools, a multi-generational, environmentally conscious family living in a designated bird sanctuary in Osprey, FL asks design expert Lucas Congdon to create both a custom-built pool paradise and a bird pond oasis, all in one outdated, rundown backyard. After finding out a pool remodel won’t be possible, Lucas has a change in design plans and builds a new custom pool for the client. The final design of the custom pool in Osprey, Florida includes a natural Florida limestone fresh-water pond for the birds juxtaposed with a ModernZEN pool, gas fire pit and an oversize infinity edge custom spa. To complete the custom pool design, Lucas added plenty of outdoor living space including an outdoor dining area, an outdoor kitchen with bar, grill and seating plus a large deck joins the custom modern pool to the natural Florida pond.

On episode 10 of Insane Pools Lucas faces an epic challenge building a Roman Pool fit for a palace on the Gulf of Mexico. Lucas journeys far outside his comfort zone and even taps Emperor Caesar for help on his quest to fulfill his clients’ dream of living in a castle by the sea.

Featuring a spa surrounded by sculptures and towering columns, the 180 degree wrap around luxury outdoor living space has ample room to relax, entertain and soak in the sun and sunsets right on the Gulf of Mexico. The bubbling urns and fountains seem to flow right under the travertine deck to fill the pool and spa, with curved stairs rising to the balcony to take in the majestic view of the palatial Roman Pool. While this classical pool design differs from the traditional Lucas Lagoons pool design and build, the resulting masterpiece is truly fit for a King and Queen.

The lazy river system is small, powerful and quiet, and the fire pit, waterfalls, lighting, and lazy river are all remote-controlled from an iPad app. This Pine Island pool build includes a sunken living area with a swim-up bar, signature Lucas Lagoons grotto and waterfalls that can be jumped off of plus a fire island accessed by a bridge. To top it all off, an outdoor kitchen and dining area was added with top-notch amenities to fit the clients’ culinary desires.
